WITH giant mugs of beer in hand, hundreds of people flocked to Southampton Guildhall square to mark the return of Oktoberfest.
Kitted out in traditional lederhosen, friends and family and came together took to eat, drink and be merry for the German festival.
The event boasted a live Oompah Band and DJs, as well as a lederhosen bar and food stalls serving Bratwurst, Hanz the Butcher Hog Roasts and more.
Oktoberfest began as a wedding celebration more than 200 years ago when Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen.
