A CAR business owner caught driving while disqualified twice within a fortnight has been given a suspended sentence.

Oskars Bolsteins, 24, was caught driving a BMW while disqualified on Westridge Road, Southampton, on August 13.

He was caught driving the same BMW on Woodside Road on August 24.

On both occasions he was driving without insurance.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Bolsteins pleaded guilty to two counts of driving while disqualified and two counts of driving without insurance.

But he was spared an immediate custodial sentence because he was running a car business and was "making a success of himself".

Instead, magistrates gave him a 12 week prison sentence, which they suspended for 12 months.

He was also made the subject of a 20 week electronic curfew, to his home in Derby Road, Southampton.

The curfew will be in operation between 8pm and 8am each day.

Bolsteins was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122 and court costs of £85.
