AN EASTLEIGH based bus company' is set to introduce contactless payments to its services, in a bid to make travel experience as easy and efficient as possible for customers.
Xelabus has announced that they will be joining travel giants Stagecoach and First Bus in providing contactless payments, as well as the traditional cash method.
The family owned bus company has invested in the new ticket machines that will be rolled out across their fleet from Monday November 4 2019.
Gareth Blair, Managing Director of Xelabus spoke on the technology advancement.
He said: “This is a big investment for the company and we know will be appreciated by the many customers who use our buses. The new technology allows not only credit card payment but mobile phone use too."
The 'tap and travel' service is simple and secure, where passengers will have to tap their contactless card or smart phone pay app onto the card reader, and payments can be made up to a maximum of £30.
Xelabus currently have 40 busses operating in the borough throughout Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Colden Common, Bishops Waltham, West End, Hedge End and Hamble which provides services for commuters and shoppers, as well as school and college students.
