A HAMPSHIRE MP has announced she will not be running in the next general election.
MP for Eastleigh, Mims Davies, announced this morning she was "very sad" she will not be on the ballot in the Eastleigh constituency on behalf of the Conservatives.
She said it has been a "huge honour and privilege to serve".
She added: "My life has change and I must now seek different path - truly wrestled with a very hard decision for some time and I greatly wish our new candidate all the success.
"Thanks to all for the kindness, support and understanding I've had from my team in Hedge End and Westminster - thanks to my constituents for the huge opportunity to serve them and I had wished to continue to do this until 2022.
"Sadly this is not to be and I now must look to a new future."
The general election is set to take place on December 12.
