THE upcoming festive season is to set to include a series of Christmas lights switch-on's across the region. Here is where you can find your closest switch-on:
- Winter Carnival and Romsey Christmas Lights Switch-on
When: November 23
Where: Market Place, Romsey
What's on: Running from 6.15pm to 8.15pm, the event is set to have a procession of which you can register and enter for free along with Christmas Carols in the market place.
- Christmas Lights Switch-on in Locks Heath
When: November 23
Where: Locks Heath Shopping Village
What's on: Running from 3pm to 3.45pm, the event promises a Christmas Mashup Dance Routine performed by the Sling Swingers followed by the light switch on.
- New Milton Town Partnership Christmas Festival and French Market
When: November 24
Where: Station Road
What's on: From 11am, the Christmas Festival which is now in its 14th year, is set to have a variety of stalls selling handmade wares along with a range of food and drinks. The festival looks to give local performers a platform to entertain the festival goers and there will also be rides for children. The local Lions Club will also have a parade through the town before the switching on of the lights. The festival is due to finish at 5.30pm.
- Shirley Christmas Lights Switch-on
When: November 24
Where: Shirley Precinct
What's on: From 4pm there will be a small programme of festive themed entertainment, along with the start of the Shirley Christmas Sheep Trail and a countdown to the switch on itself on Shirley High Street. This is the first time that an event of this kind will take place in Shirley so why not go and check it out.
- Victorian Christmas in Fareham
When: November 24
Where: West Street, Fareham Town Centre
What's on: Market stalls selling food and a variety of gift items, exciting street performances, free children's activities such as face painting and fun fair rides. The event starts from 10am and finishes at 6pm and the lights are due to be switched on from 4.30pm.
- Christmas Lights 2019 at Southampton University
When: November 26
Where: University of Southampton Highfield Campus
What's on: The event, which is just for students and staff of the university, will include Christmas market stalls from 4pm which will sell a range of gifts and festive foods. Carols will also be performed and the switch on itself will take place at 6pm.
- Lymington Christmas Lights
When: November 29
Where: Lymington High Street
What's on: From 4pm, Lymington High Street will be hosting a Christmas market stocked to the brim with wares, gifts, food and drink, and at 6pm, a Crib Blessing service will be held at St Thomas Church. The Mayor of Lymington Councillor Anne Corbidge will be pressing the big red button at 6.15pm.
- Swanmore Community Christmas Festival
When: November 29
Where: Swanmore Village Hall and Car Park
What's on: Market stalls, entertainment, and refreshments will be available at this festive event which runs from 5pm until 8pm, along with the turning on of the Christmas tree lights.
- Lyndhurst Lights Switch-on
When: November 30
Where: Mailman's Forecourt
What's on: The switch-on is set to have musical entertainment from 5pm to 7pm and the switch-on itself takes place at 6pm.
- Christmas in Ringwood
When: December 1
Where: Market Place, Ringwood
What's on: From midday, Ringwood's festivities will officially begin with a day of entertainment including, fairground rides and street performances along with Christmas Market stalls selling warm food and drink. Live music will be performed throughout the day until Santa makes an appearance to turn on the new town lights at 6pm.
