TICKETS go on sale this morning for an all star Isle of Wight Festival 2020.
Festival bosses this week announced international superstar Lionel Richie would co-headline the opening night of next year’s event with man of the moment Lewis Capaldi.
Rockers Snow Patrol will share headlining duties with electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers on Saturday night while, in a UK festival exclusive, new wave legends Duran Duran will close the main stage.
Also on the bill are Pete Tong celebrating the legacy of dance music with Ibiza Classics, Madchester pioneers Happy Mondays, indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs, psychedelic favourites Primal Scream and singer songwriter James Arthur, among others.
Music icon Lionel Richie, who has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, told the Daily Echo: “I’m excited to be playing at The Isle of Wight Festival next summer. It’s the first time I’ve performed at the festival and I can’t think of a better way to start the summer! It’s a festival steeped in music history - Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones have all headlined and I’m honoured to be joining the esteemed list! See you all there.”
The traditional start to the summer and the UK’s oldest festival, Isle of Wight takes over Seaclose Park, Newport from June 11 to 14.
Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am.
