A LIST of train service alterations has been released by South Western Railway following the freight train derailment at Eastleigh Station yesterday morning.
Passengers were originally told that delays were likely to continue until around 10.30pm last night, but this has now been extended and trains across the region will be delayed and cancelled until at least the end of today.
South Western Railway have said that engineers have been "working overnight" to remove the derailed freight train and while this is carried out trains cannot run through the area.
A list of today's service alterations are as followed:
- The XX:05 services from London Waterloo to Weymouth and the XX:20 Weymouth to London Waterloo will be cancelled.
- The XX:35 services from London Waterloo to Weymouth and the XX:03 Weymouth to Waterloo will be diverted via Fareham. This is likely to add 60 minutes on to your journey. These services will also call at Fareham.
- The XX:50 Poole to London Waterloo services, will end their journeys at Southampton Central. The XX:39 London Waterloo to Poole services will start their journeys at Southampton Central instead of London Waterloo.
- The XX:09 London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Basingstoke and the XX:59 Portsmouth Harbour to Waterloo via Basingstoke services will be cancelled.
- All West of England services heading towards London Waterloo will call additionally at Clapham Junction.
Additionally, a shuttle service has been arranged to run between Winchester and Basingstoke, also calling at Micheldever, but Shawford will not be served.
Replacement buses have been arranged at Southampton Central, Central Fareham, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton Airport Parkway, Eastleigh and Andover for passengers impacted by cancelled trains.
Passengers have been "strongly advised" to check their journey before travelling, and have apologised for the continued disruption.
