A COLLEGE netball team in Eastleigh achieved a podium finish in a national competition.
Barton Peveril Sixth Form college's Netball team took part in the National Schools Regional Competition, finishing third place.
The team was one of the only sixth form colleges to feature in the competition, facing 13 other "high-level" teams in the process.
Liberty Griffin, member of the Netball team, said: “I was proud to lead our team of talented young players to our best ever achievement within the national competition. It was a great opportunity to demonstrate our versatility and teamwork to beat some very good opponents from the rest of the region. We are thrilled by our achievement and we are looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Vice-Captain Rhea Scarlett, added: “As Vice-Captain of the Netball Team, I am so proud of everyone. We worked so hard with such enthusiasm and came out with a positive 3rd place, at such a high-level Netball Tournament.”
Barton Peveril Teacher of Sport, Alix Christopher, said: “I’m so proud of all the players. It was a very long, cold day but the girls were fantastic and played their absolute hearts out. With most of the competition being private schools, I'm so proud of all the students."
