A HAMPSHIRE takeaway restaurant is "under investigation" by a public health watchdog.
A report from environmental health chiefs, who carried out an inspection at Tiger Lily in Whiteley, gave it a food hygiene rating of 1 out of 5.
It found that systems to ensure that food is safe to eat, and that staff know about food safety needed major improvements.
Inspectors found that the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage at the restaurant needed improvement.
Similarly, the cleanliness of the premises in Whiteley Local Centre in Gull Coppice needed improvement.
Inspectors from the environmental health partnership of Fareham Borough Council undertook the visit on January 10.
According to the borough council was unable to provide a full report of the hygiene inspection as the restaurant is subject to further investigation.
On its website Tiger Lily reports to offer freshly cooked Chinese and Asian takeaway meals.
It holds a three out of five-star rating on Google reviews with one customer writing: "Please don’t go waste time and money and all you will get is someone argue with you on the phone tell you the food is cooked properly when it is clearly not my dogs won’t even eat it."
Another added: "The very last time I will use this take away. Got the order wrong (yet again) no apology. The food that did arrive was of very poor quality.
"They really need to address their problems or they won’t have a business left."
While one unhappy customer said: "If this was the first time I had ordered, it would be the last. Advised 20 minutes for delivery but it took over 1.5 hours, the food arrived cold and sub standard.
"If this had been a restaurant every dish would have been returned and I would have refused to pay.
"Very disappointing as I have collected a number of times previously and none of the above was experienced."
In 2018 Tiger Lily received a three-star rating and then in 2016 a two-star rating.
