EMERGENCY services rushed to a blaze in the New Forest after a group of young people "started a fire".
Crews from Burley Fire Station were called to Holmsley Pass at 7.26pm last night to a fire in the woodland that was reportedly caused by a group of young people, who had started the fire.
It is believed that the group had lit a bonfire to have a barbeque or a picnic just off of Holmsley carpark.
Crews used a hosereel to extinguish the fire and details were left with the police.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "It was reported a group of young people had started a fire.
"Our colleagues from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and dealt with the fire.
"It is believed the group had lit a bonfire to have a barbeque or picnic."
