A POPULAR wholesaler has told members of the public to not shop with them if people cannot stick to social distancing rules.
Rogers Wholesale Foods in Southampton, that specialize in gone past best before and short dated food and drinks, released a statement yesterday after staff members suffered two weeks of constant abuse.
Members of the public have now been told that if they cannot stick to Government Guidelines or won't follow the store social distancing rules, they should not come.
In a statement posted on their Facebook page, managing director Mark King said that he has witnesses abuse on a scale "he has not seen before" towards his staff.
He said: "First off, I would like to thank our army of loyal appreciative customers who continue to trust us, been patient and have been really responsible with the social distancing in our warehouses at this very strange time and help us in following the Government Guidelines.
"I promise we will always do all we can to keep that trust in Rogers brand as well as trying to keep you and our staff well."
Mr King added: "If you think the Government Guidelines are not for you or you do not want to follow our social distancing rules in our warehouses or be polite to my fantastic staff then please feel free to shop elsewhere.
"We would rather spend our time looking after our customers who appreciate us, as much as we appreciate them. I don't think it's too much to ask as we are all in this together."
