LIVE Art Local are set to ease Covid-19 isolation boredom with a series of free online creative workshops later this month.

The Fareham based organisation has secured Arts Council England funding to offer employ artists and provide the free digital workshops.

“This is brilliant news,” said Beth Davis-Hofbauer, Live Art Local’s founder.

“We are just so happy to be able to provide this chance for people to connect with others and reduce stress by supporting people to get creative in lockdown. The fact that we can offer creatives paid employment during this time is a huge bonus!”

A total of 13 hour-long workshops will take place over Zoom from late May with a new workshop on offer every week.

They will be free to attend and will cover a wide range of creative disciplines, most using what people already have at home.

Organisers are hoping anyone and everyone will find something to suit them.

People are welcome to join as many or as few sessions as they want and depending on that week’s theme, some workshops will have up to 100 spaces available.

Live Art Local are currently seeking expressions of interest from visual artists, musicians, writers, performers, theatre makers and others who have lost work through the pandemic and who would be able to provide at least one hour-long workshop.

Visit liveartlocal.co.uk/creatives-wanted-paid-opportunity-during-the-pandemic/to apply before applications close on May 13.

Details of the workshops will be available soon.
