JOBS are at risk at a well-known Hampshire engineering company.
A consultations about redundancies have begun at Lymington Precision Engineers, which employs 190 people.
Parent company Senior PLC did not say how many jobs were affected but said the site would remain open.
A Senior spokesperson said: “Covid-19 is causing significant disruptions to all businesses, with the oil and gas markets badly affected. We are taking actions to manage our capacity to meet end customer demand and are currently in discussion with our LPE employees about how this can be managed.”
The company was owned for many years by the late Leon Crouch, who built up the business and sold it for around £46million in 2015. He became chairman of Southampton Football Club.
Lymington Precision Engineers makes precision-machined components for a host of industries at its Marsh Lane site. Its parent company is based in Rickmansworth Hertfordshire.
