A SOUTHAMPTON man has been charged with attempted murder.
Damon Charles Grossett has been charged after a man was stabbed in the chest at an address in Denzil Avenue.
The 35-year-old victim was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the incident at around 1.20am on Thursday, May 7.
Grossett, 33, of Denzil Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday, May 8) and has been remanded to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, May 12.
Commenting at the time a police spokesman said: "We were called at around 1.20am this morning, Thursday, May 7 after a man had been seriously assaulted at an address in Denzil Avenue, Southampton.
"On arrival, officers found a 35 year-old man with a stab wounds to his chest and he was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"A 33 year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"He remains in police custody at this time.
"Officers will be in the area today carrying out enquiries. If you have any concerns please come and speak to us."
