INCONSIDERATE drivers have been slammed for causing parking chaos.
Selfish motorists have been slammed for blocking roads and parking dangerously in the New Forest.
It comes following scenes of chaos this weekend at Lepe Country Park with people parking on blind bends and double yellow lines.
Police are urging drivers to park responsibly by leaving room for emergency service vehicles to pass.
Officers say this can save lives and property.
Hundreds of people flocked to the New Forest and Hampshire coast after lockdown restrictions were eased.
There were similar issues over the May bank holiday weekend when police also had to intervene.
Commenting at the time, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: “While we were pleased to see that the majority of visitors to Hampshire’s country parks this bank holiday weekend acted responsibly, it was disappointing that a small number of people visiting Lepe Country Park decided to park along the beach road on double yellow lines, causing obstructions and difficulties for vehicles trying to pass. As a result of this behaviour, the country park rangers had to ask the police to get involved to resolve the situation.
The Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage at Hampshire County Council added: "We are keen to welcome local visitors back to our country parks so they can enjoy the fantastic outside spaces on offer, but we need to do so in a way that is safe for all.
"This includes measures to support social distancing for visitors and staff, including reduced car parking space. To help the overall effort, we would ask people to consider visiting outside of peak periods.”
