Drivers have been warned to take extra care afer a woman had to be rescued from the top of her car when it became trapped in a flooded Hampshire ford.
The woman, a mum from Fleet, became trapped after driving her car through the ford at Foxes Lane in West Wellow yesterday.
Overnight rain had left the normally shallow ford far deeper than usual and she quickly became stuck after her car stalled.
She then managed to clamber out of the vehicle through a window, before sitting on her car roof for more than an hour until Hampshire Fire and Rescue arrived and hauled her and the car to safety.
A police spokesman warned other road users to take extra care around fords during the winter months, particularly after heavy rain.
