It once provided a popular meeting spot for friends and those on dates.
The Daily Echo clock, which once hung outside the office in Above Bar, was a landmark feature of postwar Southampton.
The clock disappeared from sight when the Echo offices moved to Redbridge in 1998 but is set to be given a new lease of life by several Southampton businesses.
Although it's not the metal timepiece which once hung outside the newspaper office, the one being restored is in fact a fibreglass prototype created at roughly the same time.

Those working with The Daily Echo on the project are Fork Handle Revival, Alexander Blacker Management, SW Asgood Engineering and Roosters Voodoo Paint.
