FORMER Saints striker Matt Le Tissier has apologised and deleted a controversial tweet about Anne Frank after a surge of social media backlash.
Earlier today the retired footballer re-tweeted a picture which read: "The people who hid Anne Frank were breaking the law. The people who killed her were following it."
This prompted thousands to comment on Mr Le Tissier's tweet as they claim he was comparing the Holocaust to wearing a mask.
