A POLICE helicopter was seen circling the air after officers closed a Southampton road last night.
It follows an incident labelled by a resident as a "police lockdown", with a presence of around six police cars at Forest Hills Drive.
Another resident said that Meggeson Avenue was also closed at 10pm.
They added that buses had to divert at a roundabout leading into the road, and that police sniffer dogs were seen in the Townhill area.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was seen above the Thornhill and Townhill area just after 7.30pm on Friday.
It was reported that the helicopter was still flying over the area at 10pm.
Hampshire Constabulary have been asked for comment.
