MORE than 100 new positive cases have been recorded in Hampshire.
Public Health England figures as recorded on the Government website show that, as of 4pm yesterday, 141 more people have tested positive for the virus in 24 hours.
The figures come as testing increases across the county.
The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.
In Southampton, a further 23 people have tested positive for coronavirus in that 24-hour period.
In Eastleigh, another eight people have tested positive, and in the New Forest a further 13 people have tested positive.
A further 19 people have tested positive in the Test Valley area of the county.
A total of 15 people have tested positive for the virus in Winchester in just 24 hours.
In Gosport, seven people have tested positive and in Fareham another 14 people have tested positive.
Portsmouth saw the biggest daily total, with 42 confirmed cases.
