TWO play areas have opened to the public for children to enjoy.
The facilities are located in Avenue Park at North Stoneham Park, Eastleigh and have been designed to meet the needs of children of all ages offering a “challenging and adventurous” experience.
A Natural Play Space has been created for children aged 7-12 with a council spokesperson claiming the park feels part of the local landscape, and compliments the natural features and structure of the area.
A Toddler Play Space has also been created for children aged 3-7, including equipment for them to enjoy “spinning, swinging, rocking, climbing and balancing”.
The play spaces both opened on Thursday, October 8 aimed at becoming focal points for the local community to “stay, play and meet friends.”
Mayor of Eastleigh Councillor Darshan Mann said: “We are really pleased to invest in these great new play facilities for this area.
“This new play equipment will, for the first time, provide local children in the area with the chance to enjoy a range of play equipment in a safe environment which also encourages them to keep active.”
Both play areas were funded by the developer as part of the community benefits for the region.
They are made of Robinia timber throughout which the council says gives a “strong, natural structure in keeping with the natural landscape of the development”
As reported, several other play areas have also been constructed nearby, with the Bowlake Gardens, Bishopstoke play area opening on September 25, and ongoing work taking place on a play area at Pirelli Park.
