A STUDENT at a Southampton secondary school has tested positive for coronavirus.
Upper Shirley High have confirmed that a student at the school has tested positive for coronavirus.
In a letter to parents the school confirmed the case this morning.
The letter read: "We have been made aware of a student of our school community who has tested positive for COVID-19.
"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness."
The school remains open at this time.
