A MAN left a woman with “gruesome facial injuries” during a drunken rampage at a “party which went terribly wrong”.

Gary Hunt struck a woman in the face so she fell to the ground suffering a cut to her eyebrow, a court heard.

His “rampage” on August 29 this year left another of his victims unconscious.

Hunt, 24, of Palm Road, Southampton was “heavily intoxicated” when he was ejected from the party in Raymond Road following a scuffle.

Prosecution barrister, Sam Barker, told how he left the scene only to return with a large piece of wood.

He then set about smashing an Audi belonging to the man whose home he had been “bundled out from”.

The “terrified” occupants barricaded themselves inside with some fleeing from a back door.

He went on to smash a bathroom window and the front door glass.

One man was knocked unconscious - although Hunt was unable to get back into the house it is believed he launched a piece of wood at him.

He appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Monday charged with two counts of ABH, criminal damage and burglary to which he previously pleaded guilty.

Mr Barker told the court how there were a total of seven 999 calls made during the ordeal.

He described how the “series of offences arose from a party gone terribly wrong”.

A woman suffered a “particularly gruesome facial injury”, Mr Barker added.

Defending, Dan Sawyer, argued his client’s actions were due to alcohol, but said he was remorseful.

Hunt who has previous convictions for GBH and battery was jailed for 20-months and will be released on licence.
