ROBBERS attacked a female shop worker and assaulted a brave member of the public who came to their aid in Southampton.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at the Londis store on Millbrook Road West at about 7am on Friday, November 20.
Officers say two offenders carried out the raid and stole cash from the till and cigarettes.
They then fled in a white Volkswagen Crafter van, which they had also arrived in.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A female member of staff was assaulted and a quantity of cigarettes were taken, along with money from the till.
"A member of public, who tried to assist the woman, was also assaulted during the incident."
Neither the member of staff or public required medical attention.
Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Anyone with information about the robbery or the Volkswagen Crafter van is advised to call 101, quoting the reference 44200449178.
