A COLLEGE has confirmed that three students have tested positive for Covid-19.
Baron Peveril Sixth Form College on Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh confirmed the news in a statement on its website.
The news comes after the college, which has over 4,000 full time students, confirmed 12 other cases two weeks ago.
Staff say they were made aware of the three cases last week.
All three individuals were not in college at the time and as a result, no students have been asked to self-isolate.
A spokesperson said: "The College has followed Government guidelines carefully to ensure that it minimises the risk of students and staff catching covid.
"It has reduced the numbers of students on site at any one point in time.
"Whilst the government has not, up to now, required students in schools and colleges to wear face coverings in an educational environment and on college run bus services, the college has followed WHO advice and these are mandatory at Barton Peveril, apart from when settled in the classroom.
"Extending this to classrooms is something we will continue to review, taking account as always of the latest government guidance."
