THIS Christmas has been different to any other that most of us will have experienced in our life time. 

The year has been full of uncertainty and constant change, with a pandemic plaguing the world and the UK's exit from the EU up in the air (until yesterday). 

But despite this, we have still managed to make this Christmas a magical one - even for those of us forced to spend Christmas by themselves.

Whether it be Zoom calls with whole family or meeting those you love for a social-distanced walk, we have overcome the obstacles facing us to keep today meryy and bright across Britain. 

Mid-winter swims around the country proved a bracing beginning to the day for many, while enough snow fell in the North East for some to venture out on new sledges.

Meanwhile, some care homes were able to welcome visitors with rapid coronavirus tests and PPE allowing some families to reunite for the first time since lockdown in March.
