A SOUTHAMPTON Football Club store is set to close as it focuses more resources on online orders.
The club has taken the decision to close the Saints Store at Westquay from January 31.
This is said to be a part of the ongoing improvements to the clubs retail offering.
The news comes after a complete overhaul of Southampton FC's online retail store at the start of this year.
The club claimed the change "helped to better serve the ever increasing number of supporters who wish to purchase their Saints merchandise and products online rather than in store".
With the percentage of transactions completed online vs in store expected to continue to rise, it has been decided that it is no longer viable to operate two physical stores within a one-mile radius of each other.
The club says this move will "allow the club to focus even more resource on fulfilling its online orders".
Supporters can still shop in person at the Stadium Store at St Mary’s once tier restrictions allow.
If restrictions change between now and the closing date, a clearance event will take place at the store before it shuts its doors for the final time.
