DRIVERS are being urged to "plan ahead" as work to upgrade the M27 will partly shut the motorway for two weeks from today.
From 10pm to 6am every night starting today until February 14, the major road will be shut in both directions.
These closures will be in place between Junction 7 for Hedge End and Junction 11 for Wallington.
Highways England says this is for gantry installations and surfacing work to be undertaken.
As well as this, the road will also be shut eastbound at Junction 4 for the M3 interchange next weekend, from 9pm on February 6 to 6am on February 7.
A spokesperson from Highways England said: "Drivers needing to use the M27 during these times are advised to plan-ahead and leave extra time for their journeys.
"All diversions will be fully signed, and closures are subject to change depending on operational requirements or adverse weather conditions."
