FLY-TIPPERS have dumped a haul of building waste at the city's waterfront for the second time in just a month.

A pile of rubbish has appeared underneath the western side of Northam Bridge.

The heap includes buckets, paint pots, plastic and cuttings.

It comes a month after huge piles of trash were left at exactly the same spot.

Residents vented their fury at the time and believed the bricks, window frames, and rubble had been dumped using a tipper truck.

A spokesperson for Southampton City Council said: "“We are investigating reports of fly-tipping at Northam Bridge. To fly-tip any item, large or small, is not only illegal but also a very antisocial act. It is a great shame that a small number of individuals are willing to undertake this action rather than dispose of unwanted items properly at the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Millbrook or to use the council’s bulky item collection service. Residents can report fly-tipping on the council’s website or by emailing  fly.tipping@southampton.gov.uk.”
