POLICE have broken up a "party in full swing" at a Hampshire pub.
Officers received reports of a birthday party thrown for the landlord of the Delme Arms in Cams Hill, Fareham.
Police say that nine people were gathered at the watering hole at around 11pm on Saturday night.
The four women and five men were reported for summons in relation to a fixed penalty notice for a breach of the Health Protection Regulations.
Meanwhile, a licensing team is now engaging with the licensee.
A post on the Hants Response Cops Twitter page said: "Good morning from Fareham E shift. Amongst other deployments, we were notified about a pub in Fareham relating to a Covid breach. On arrival, officers found a party for the landlord in full swing! 9 persons reported for breaches and licensing issues. You can't make it up."
