SOUTHAMPTON is bracing for 70mph winds and heavy showers over the next few days, following a weather warning for the region.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind today and tomorrow.
Met Office issues yellow weather warning for England and Wales with 70 mph wind
The warning lasts from 9pm tonight until 3pm on Thursday.
The statement from the Met Office read: “Gusts of 50-55mph are possible inland, especially close to showers.
"Gusts may reach 60-70mph on coasts and hills, especially in the west, before gradually easing on Thursday afternoon”.

Wednesday, March 10
9pm, 60% chance of rain, 38mph wind gusts
10pm 20% chance of rain, 41mph wind guts
11pm 80% chance of rain, 41mph wind guts
Thursday, March 11
Midnight, 90% chance of rain, 42mph wind gusts
3am 30% chance of rain, 47mph wind gusts
6am 60% chance of rain, 48mph wind gusts
9am 40% chance of rain, 39mph wind gusts
12pm 50% chance of rain, 38mph wind gusts
3pm 70% chance of rain, 38mph wind gusts
