SASHA Camilli's recent effusion is typical of the sentimental and unsubstantiated rhetoric that characterises the extreme wing of the animal rights movement.
To claim that Christians are obliged by their faith to refrain from eating fish, even in moderation, is both un-Biblical and illogical.
Sascha Camilli seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that Jesus displayed to sanctimonious scruples about securing bumper harvests of fish for his disciple, employing his divine powers.
He even prepared a seafood repast for his adherents on the shores of Lake Galilee.
Of course believers should respect all sentient life.
However, their attitude to lesser species should always be determined by ordinate love and not anthropomorphic illusions.
