A MAN has been arrested after a search of a vehicle resulted in "drugs" and a "weapon" being seized.
On Tuesday, police spotted a man near Toynbee Road, Eastleigh at around 5.30pm.
They claimed the man was acting "suspiciously" and after noticing the vehicle again later on that day, conducted a moving check.
The check allegedly showed no insurance and the driver was pulled over.
A search of the vehicle took place and a large quantity of a Class B drug and an "offensive weapon" were said to have been found.
Police then searched the drivers home where they claimed they also seized a quantity of a Class B drug and drug-related paraphernalia.
A 59-year-old man from Eastleigh has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been released under investigation whilst police continue their enquiries.
