A DRINK DRIVER has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Sam Paul Jordan was caught driving a Vauxhall Astra on Woodhouse Lane, Botley when more than twice the legal limit.

The 28-year-old had 176 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80 millilitres.

Appearing before Southampton Magistrates' Court he pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on September 20 last year.

He was disqualified for 18 months and fined £613.

Jordan, of Cleverley Rise, Bursledon, must also pay £85 court costs and a £61 victim surcharge.
