RINGWOOD Carnival is set to go ahead later this year after being cancelled for the second time in its near-100-year history.
The carnival committee has been holding regular Zoom meetings over the past year and have been following all government announcements in order to prepare for this year's event.
The organisers have set Saturday, September 18 as the date and are aiming for the carnival's usual two processions, Village Green, fun fair, fireworks, entertainment and more to take place.
Volunteers will be working hard to ensure the event does go ahead and if it does, to make it an extra special celebration for all involved.
People are invited to watch and join the processions and can apply for the latter here: https://ringwoodcarnival.org/get-involved/be-in-the-procession/
The carnival will be subject to Covid-19 restrictions and government guidelines in place at the time of the event.
Ringwood's first carnival took place in 1928 and was staged to fund the purchase of a field, as well as supporting the Royal Victoria & West Hants Hospital.
