A VAN driver who jumped a red traffic light and drove while using his mobile phone must pay more than £400 in fines and costs.

Jack Ryan Jewel was using a mobile phone while driving a Ford Transit van along Wimpson Lane in Southampton.

The 31-year-old of Warren Crescent then "failed to comply" with a red traffic light at the Millbrook Roundabout.

Appearing before Southampton Magistrates' Court he pleaded guilty to the offences which happened on January 12 this year.

His driving record was endorsed with six points and he was fined £300.
