A PROJECT to capture Southampton’s Hip Hop heritage has been launched this week.
The call is going out for people to contribute their stories and photos from the 1980s to the present day to build a picture of this thread of the city’s recent history. With the music at its core, the scene embraced, breakdancing, fashion, and street art.
Online panels of local MCs, Breakers and Graffiti writers will talk about the emergence of the Southampton scene and its continuing influence up to the present day on March 30 and 31.
In April, there will also be an online discussion between leading Southampton practitioners and those involved in the Hip Hop scene in Boston USA.
Free access to both events is by registering your details at southamptonhiphopheritage.com
