AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a burglary at a Hampshire home.

Yesterday, between 1.30pm and 1.50pm, a property was burgled in Twyford Road, Eastleigh.

Two men are said to have entered using the front door and proceeded to search the downstairs.

The resident of the home, who was upstairs at the time, called out, disturbing the men who then fled the scene.

Two bank cards were among items stolen.

An investigation has now been launched and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The only description given of the men was that they had "local accents".

A police spokesperson said: "Were you in the area of Twyford Road, Eastleigh today between the hours of 13:30 and 13:50? Did you see anything suspicious or out-of-place?

"We would ask any residents who have driven in the area to check their dash cam footage and any residents living in Twyford Road area to check their CCTV around the relevant time period for anything that may assist our enquiry."
