We are all dreaming about where our next adventure will be, especially as many of us will be staying closer to home in 2021.

Great Britain offers an abundance of stunning landscapes from towering mountains, to glistening beaches, there are also many wonderful local places waiting to be explored.

With restrictions beginning to ease, it’s the perfect time to spread an Ordnance Survey map across the kitchen table and start planning where your next trip will be.  

There’s no better place to start than the New Forest National Park. Fall in love with the mystical charm of some of Britain’s tallest and most ancient trees along the ‘Tall Tress Trail’ and witness mighty redwoods and immense 800-year-old oaks. Discover beautiful purple heathland on its many walking and cycling trails, where wildlife and nature come together through unique flora and fauna or head towards the sea discover shimmering coastline and crabbing hotspots.

In the next county across, you can uncover the diverse and rich landscape of Dorset. Relax on long, golden, sandy beaches or walk along the spectacular 200-million-year-old Jurassic Coast, exploring breathtaking cliff-top views, plus charming towns in between. Further inland, you will find picturesque countryside, with winding valleys, sweeping downlands and hidden villages, gentle strolls and long walks are aplenty.

Next up, the South Downs National Park. Rich in history, many writers, artists, and storytellers have been inspired by the beauty of rolling chalk downland, meandering rivers, ancient castles, and iconic panoramic views out to sea. Home to the only National Trail that lies entirely within a National Park, enjoy walks and cycle rides along the 100-mile South Downs Ways, starting at Winchester and ending at the impressive chalk cliffs at Seven Sisters.

Or for the ultimate adventure jump on a ferry to the Isle of Wight from Southampton or Portsmouth. With expansive beaches, rocky coves, rolling hills, valley plains, boutique towns, and thatched villages, there is something for everyone. With fantastic hikes, walks and cycle routes, you can also enjoy refreshing wild swims and meandering rivers on a stand up paddle board.
