A prolific speeder has been banned from driving for three years after admitting breaking the speed limit 66 times.
Hampshire police said Cristian Mustafa, of Bitterne Road West, Southampton, had been caught speeding by cameras an “unprecedented number of times” during a 10-month period.
During that period, the 21-year-old was spotted driving at up to 56mph in a 30mph zone in three different vehicles, a Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf.
Mustafa pleaded guilty at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court to 10 speeding offences and three of driving without insurance, and asked for a further 56 speeding offences to be taken into consideration.
Magistrates banned him from driving for three years, fined him £240 and ordered him to pay £80 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
Pc Daniel Channer said: “Mustafa was a prolific speeder, whose consistent offending and failure to respond to our correspondence led to a significant amount of time and effort being put into finally locating and stopping him.”
