RED Funnel is expanding its Red Jet timetable - and reinstating its Quayconnect bus service - from April 12.
The Red Jet service is returning to all-day coverage with 12 departures from each side of the Solent, Monday to Friday, and 11 departures at weekends.
The Quayconnect service takes passengers from the Southampton Red Jet terminal at Town Quay to the city centre.
Fran Collins, chief executive of Red Funnel, said: "We are absolutely delighted to see the Red Jet service back to a more frequent schedule in line with the easing of government restrictions.
"Whilst we’re starting with a one-boat service, we will be closely monitoring customer demand and will adapt our operations and timetables accordingly, to ensure we continue to support our customers in line with the latest government guidance and safety advice.”
Pricing for individual tickets will revert to the standard structure, with the reintroduction of the operator’s super-off-peak, off-peak and standard fares.
Red Jet capacity will continue to be restricted to 148 passengers - 53% of normal - with restricted seats, plus enhanced cleaning and sanitisation between crossings.
Face coverings continue to be mandatory for all travellers, except in specific cases of exemption as outlined by the government.
