Drug driver jailed after killing woman in crash and running away
Luke Bates, 34, lost control of his BMW and crashed into a tree off Mountbatten Way in Southampton.
Mother of three Kim Bainbridge, 51, died as a result.
Bates was jailed for six years and banned from driving for seven years.
Man jailed for child sex offences in Southampton.
Shaun Higginson, 47, pleaded guilty to a total of eight offences including one count of attempted rape of a female under 16.
The charges related to offences that took place against one child between 1987 and 1992 in Southampton.
He was jailed for 13 years and given a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.
Man jailed for raping woman in car park
David Gordon Howse, 33, raped a 24-year-old woman who had been walking across a car park.
He was jailed for seven years following the early morning attack.
Four jailed after police find over £13,000 worth of drugs in Southampton
A gang of drug dealers was sentenced to a total of 19 years and three months in prison.
Police seized cash totalling £2321, three bundles of cocaine containing a total of 680 individual wraps, 179 individual wraps of heroin and 33g of crack Cocaine.
The members appeared at Southampton Crown Court in March.

Paedophile abused children over 48-year period
Michael Wort aged 69, of no fixed abode, committed a string of offences against three children.
He faced charges including sexual assaulted and indecent assault.
Wort was sentenced to five years behind bars.
Scout leader groomed 14-year-old schoolgirl before getting her pregnant
Richard Crook started a sexual relationship with a teenage girl from Southampton.
The 41-year-old formerly of Vine Road gave her alcohol and took her to hotels.
The former Scout leader was jailed for 14-years and will be released on licence.
Man ran into Southampton pizza takeaway with gun 'loaded and ready to fire
Samuel Boylan walked into Pizza House on St Mary’s Street with a gun in his waistband which was “loaded and ready to fire”.
He raised it at a member of staff before fleeing the scene.
He was jailed for a total of six years.
Man sparked city bomb scare and tried to make homemade gun
Pascal Knorr-Gulde admitted to having explosives that "could blow off someone's hand", a court heard.
The 48-year-old caused chaos when a bomb disposal unit raced to his home in Bond Road, Southampton.
He was jailed for eight years in March.
Paedophile locked up for ten years for abusing child
Marc Daniel Ward was locked up for ten years for a string of sex offences.
The 29-year-old previously admitting to abusing a child.
His offences included nine counts of sexual activity with a child, one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and a single count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Man jailed for importing 'large quantity of cannabis' into UK
Thomas Dickie imported a large quantity of cannabis into the UK from the USA.
However, his shipment was seized by the UK Border Force.
He was jailed for 30 months.
Police helicopter called after stolen motorbike tracked down in Southampton
A police helicopter was scrambled to track a stolen Ducati motorbike later found at a Southampton man’s house.
When police raided Jacek Czarnota’s home in Broadlands Road they found a stolen Ducati and quad bike.
He was jailed for 21 months for handling stolen goods.
'We have been destroyed': Murderer jailed for life
Abdelaziz El Yechioui Ourzat launched a frenzied knife attack against his ex-girlfriend.
He had stalked Cristina Ortiz-Lozano to her Southampton home.
She was found with stabbed wounds on the kitchen floor.
Ourzat will serve a minimum of 19 years.
