A GOSPORT man who assaulted a police officer has been handed a community order.
Colin Freeman, 52, assaulted an officer on Tukes Avenue, Gosport, on August 19 last year, the court heard.
Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker by beating.
Freeman, of Balfour Close, Gosport, was handed a community order and fined £366.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £100 as well as a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.
