A FINAL inquest date has yet to be set more than three years after a Hampshire student died outside a nightclub.
Durham University student Olivia Burt, 20, was fatally injured when a barrier collapsed outside Missoula bar in Durham in February 2018.
A brief inquest hearing was held in Crook, County Durham, to update the parties involved about progress in the investigation.
Nigel and Paula Burt, the natural sciences student’s parents, followed proceedings remotely, as did legal representatives for Stonegate pubs, Phoenix Security and the Security Industry Authority.
Assistant senior coroner Oliver Longstaff said it was more than three years since Ms Burt’s death.

The police and Crown Prosecution Service made initial inquiries and it was decided no criminal proceedings should follow.
Mr Longstaff said Durham County Council now has primacy in the investigation and it had asked for more time to consider if there had been any breaches of health and safety legislation.
He said: “They still have not made their own decision as to whether charges should be brought by them relating to the circumstances surrounding Olivia’s death.”
The coroner said a further hearing to assess progress will be held in July.
Ms Burt was a member of the British sailing team, grew up in Milford-on-Sea, Hampshire, and had been head girl of Bournemouth School for Girls.
