A KNIFE amnesty will be held to make the streets safer in the New Forest.
An amnesty bin will be placed in the front office of Lymington police station from April 26 until April 30.
It will be moved to The Haigh in New Milton briefly between 9.30am and 4pm on Saturday May 1 as part of a beat surgery.
A spokesman for Lymington and New Milton cops said: "The bin is aimed at those who carry knives to be able to hand them in safely without further action being taken.

"If you do wish to dispose of any knives then please use the bins to do so. The aim is to make the streets safer and to deter those carrying knives."
The Lymington police station front office is open between 8am and 4pm from Monday to Friday and is closed between midday and 1pm for lunch.
