A DRINK driver has been given a 17-month ban after being pulled over in Southampton.
Gavin Garry Short was stopped driving a Renault Clio on Allington Lane.
A breathalyser test showed he was more than two times the limit.
The 24-year-old of Monks Way had 82mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath.
The legal limit is just 35mgs
Appearing before Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday he pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licensing authority.
He was disqualified for 17 months, fined £400 and ordered to pay a £42 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
