A MAN was arrested for drink driving after his car crashed into a utility pole in New Milton.
Officers were called to Kennard Road yesterday where the man provided a positive breath test at the roadside and was detained.
Lymington and New Milton police said a 23-year-old man who turned up at the scene was also arrested after being abusive to officers. He will be dealt with by means of an appropriate Out Of Court Disposal.
Police record 49 speeding drivers in one hour in the New Forest
Police were in the area as part of an operation to target criminal using the rail network to visit towns in the New Forest and Christchurch areas.
They were joined by Dorset officers and those from the British Transport Police.
Two males were stopped and searched in New Milton under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and stop searches were carried out in Lymington.
