A POLICE officer has been taken to hospital after a collision in Southampton city centre which left a police van on its side.
The incident happened at around 1.45pm on Town Quay after the police vehicle collided with a white van.
One of the officers in the vehicle was taken to University Hospital Southampton for "further assessment and treatment", South Central Ambulance Service says.
A spokesperson added that they had sustained "minor injuries".
The other officer in the vehicle, as well as the driver of the white van, were also said to have sustained minor injuries, but were treated and discharged at the scene.
As reported, a spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "The crash happened at 1.44pm and involved a marked police car and a Nissan VC300 van.
"The two police officers in the van suffered minor injuries, as did the driver of the Nissan.
"No-one else was involved in the crash."
"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call us on 101 quoting incident 44210160069."
