SOUTHAMPTON is the most expensive place in the country to fill up your car, new research has shown.
New research from car insurance provider, Budget Direct, has shown that fuel prices in the city are the highest in the whole country.
Using figures from the Global Fuel Index 2021, the insurance provider found that the average price per litre of gasoline in Southampton is £1.23, whilst diesel is priced at £1.26 per litre, both topping the list of the most expensive fuel prices.
The second most priciest area in the country was London with a £1.20 gasoline price per litre, whilst diesel in the capital would set you back £1.24 per litre.
The data used for the research was collected in 2021 and also showed that filling up a Ford Fiesta Mk8 in the city would set you back £51.66 if you were to fill it with gasoline.
Whilst diesel would cost £49.56 to fill the car up fully.
