STRONG winds of up to 65mph are set to batter Southampton and Hampshire tomorrow as a weather warning has been put in place for Bank Holiday Monday.
The Met Office has imposed a Yellow Weather Warning from around midday on tomorrow, May 3 until around 9am Tuesday morning.
Spells of heavy rain also threaten to dampen spirits on the national holiday.
Forecasters have warned that 'disruptive' strong winds are expected, adding: "Gusts are likely to widely reach 40 to 50 mph inland, and as high as 60-65 mph around some coasts of southern England and South Wales."
The strong winds will by accompanied by some heavy rain at times and should gradually ease through Tuesday morning, the Met Office said.
